Arts Education Outreach Programs

Each year, The Center for Rural Development's Arts and Culture Outreach Program schedules and sponsors an educational performing arts event in at least one school in each of our 42 counties of Southern and Eastern Kentucky. Criteria used for selecting schools include geographical location, economics and state Arts and Humanities test scores. Last year, the Arts and Culture Outreach Program provided a performing arts event for 50 schools and approximately 13,500 students. All performances include study guide material for educators' use before and after the event to relate each performance to classroom activities. The Center thanks the Hot Topic Foundation for its continued support of this program.
