Description: Three years ago, the Adanta Sexual Assault Resource Center (ASARC) produced the first Focusing on The Children (FOTC) Conference. Our mission was to provide quality continuing education opportunities to professionals working with children affected by sexual abuse.
Quickly realizing that all service providers working with children, teens, adults, elderly, marriage and family, couples, and persons with disabilities needed the same opportunities, FOTC became the Focusing on Treatment and Care Conference. During years two and three, FOTC workshops were diversified to provide a wide array of opportunities for professional development. New trends and topics were presented, in addition to refreshers to “tried and true” therapeutic techniques. During the 2010 FOTC, the conference committee and other contributors feel this year’s line-up of presenters and workshop topics will exceed the previous years’ conferences. We continue moving for-ward, sharing with our communities, and making a positive difference in enhancing the quality of life for the people we serve!
