VISUAL ARTS

Visual arts displays presented by Lake Cumberland Performing Arts at The Center are second to none. Nationally known artists as well as favorite local talents are routinely displayed for the enjoyment of all. From soft watercolor landscapes to vibrantly colored, hand-crafted woven tapestries, The Center’s variety of rotating visual arts displays continue to be a major attraction.

Open to the community, artist receptions are also a favorite, as they provide great opportunities to get inside the mind of the individual behind the art.

For the latest of this year’s upcoming visual arts exhibit, be sure to check the Events & Arts Calendar frequently.

Pat JenzenGene Pollack’s brightly colored and visually intriguing abstract paintings will be on display at The Center through the month of February. Pollock studied representational painting in the seventies, but soon found himself philosophically drawn to the freedom, technical quality and spontaneity of expression inherent in the abstract style. These combined elements provide the creative force for his work.

Pollock lives in Birmingham, Alabama and has received more than 100 awards recognizing his work.
