Course Details

Business Essentials – Learn business essentials, including: the principles of effective communication; professionalism and interviewing skills; time management and organizational skills; and the basics of computers featuring Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office basics and beyond. Six weeks

Customer Service Essentials – Learn the fundamentals of basic and advanced customer service; how to deal with difficult customers; telephone skills; the basics of Microsoft Office; time management; and organizational skills. Six weeks

Entry-Level Management Certification – Learn the fundamentals of management, including: leadership skills; conflict management; conducting employee appraisals; problem solving and decision making; the basics of Microsoft Office; professionalism; and interviewing skills. Six weeks

Executive Leadership Essentials – Learn the fundamentals of leadership including: accountability versus blame; delegation; coaching and mentoring; change management; analyzing performance problems; leading teams to optimal performance; and building self-directed work teams. Seven weeks

Technical Essentials – Learn the fundamentals of computers and software use, including: Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word; using the Internet as a research tool; time management; and organizational skills. Six weeks

Specialty Courses

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification Training – Learn the skills necessary to become a certified EMT, including: airway management; cardiac emergencies; trauma; EMS operations; pediatric emergencies; basic life support and CPR. Students will adhere to the Kentucky Standards, the 1994 DOT curriculum, and input from expert instructors and support staff. Upon completion of the course, students will have performed more than 200 classroom clock hours and completed EMS ride time.

Business Your Way Small Business and Entrepreneurial Training – Learn how to call your own shots by starting your own small business! In Business Your Way, you will receive six months of expert training, featuring classroom instruction and one-on-one professional guidance. You will participate in job shadowing and develop business relationships to assist in the launch of your very own personal business. Subject areas include:

  • Developing Business and Marketing Plans
  • Customer Service
  • Legal, Tax and Insurance Issues
  • Recordkeeping
  • and much more!

Business Essentials/Entry-Level Management – Build the essential skills necessary for success, effective leadership, and management in the business world in this 10-week course, including: leadership skills; communicating effectively; conflict management; conducting employee appraisals; problem solving; decision making; Microsoft Office Intermediate; professionalism and interviewing skills; general leadership; managing generational differences; time management.
