
C-TRAIN is $5 million dollar innovative grant program funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration and administered by The Center for Rural Development that enables eligible businesses to seek financial assistance to train their employees in qualified areas of technology training.
The objectives of the C-TRAIN program include promoting high-tech skills and higher paying jobs, assisting rural businesses in becoming more competitive in today's economy, helping existing companies to retain employees and give promotions, and recruiting new companies to the 42-county service region. Thus far, over $2.8 million in grants have been awarded to train over 2,875 people in Southern and Eastern Kentucky .
