Your Center of Learning
One-Day Courses

If you need to build key job skills—but on a tight budget and timeframe—Your Center of Learning’s one-day training courses are for you! All courses shown below will be held from 8:30 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. in meeting rooms at The Center, located at 2292 South U.S. 27 in Somerset at Traffic Light 15.

Courses are only $149 per person unless otherwise noted:

Course Details

  • Excel I – Class starts March 26, 2010: This course will teach participants how to use Microsoft Office Excel to manage, edit, and print data.
  • Resolving Customer Conflict – Class starts March 31, 2010: Participants will become familiar with the basic skills needed to resolve conflict and understand how change plays an important role in managing day-to-day business relationships.
  • Access I – Class starts April 14: This course will introduce participants to the concept of the relational database and the Microsoft Access 2003 relational database application and its information management tools.
  • Migration to Office 2007 – Class starts April 16, 2010: This course is designed for Microsoft Officer users who are migrating to Office 2007 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Participants will learn how to use the redesigned Office 2007 interface, which replaces familiar menus and toolbars with the new “ribbon.” Cost: $195 per person
  • Excel II – Class starts April 21, 2010: In this course, participants will use Microsoft Office Excel 2003 to streamline and enhance spreadsheets with templates, charts, graphics, and formulas.
  • Access II – Class starts May 5, 2010: For the more advanced Microsoft Access users, this course will give participants the tools to design and create a new Access database, how to customize database components, and how to share Access data with other applications.
  • Project Management Fundamentals – Class starts May 13, 2010: This course provides the theory and core methodology participants will need to manage projects or participate on project teams. The course does not make use of any project management software application, but instead focuses on the conceptual underpinnings that participants must know in order to use any project management software effectively. Cost: $225 per person
